Is This the End of ‘Intel Inside’?

"The threats to Intel are so numerous that it’s worth summing them up: The Mac and Google’s Chromebooks are already eating the market share of Windows-based, Intel-powered devices. As for Windows-based devices, all signs point to their increasingly being based on non-Intel processors. Finally, Windows is likely to run on the cloud in the future, where it will also run on non-Intel chips."

Is This the End of ‘Intel Inside’?

@mimsical Chromebooks are overwhelmingly x86 based

@shac @mimsical True - however I think it's important that the types of application used there rarely have any dependency on Intel, so it's an area non-Intel growth could be prominent.

Think non-intel MS-Surface but actually successful 😛

@atrus @shac @mimsical it is somewhat relevant for Android games. Specifically, I still need to use Windows to play mtg arena because on Android they only ship arm binaries 💔

Kind of a niche problem though, I can use chrome os for work just fine 😅
