I joined CNBC for a (somewhat heated) discussion of what's driving inflation and whether billionaires should be taxed. Take a look.

Why Do We Let Billionaires Get Away With Not Paying Their Fair Share? | Robert Reich on CNBC

@rbreich Oh i;m pretty sure I know how that went when greed tyrants are telling other greed tyrants to go f themselves and pretending they are some kind of righteous heaven sent.

@rbreich

"Ironically pure Capitalism fails for the same reason as pure Socialism.

They both depend upon the better angels of human nature, which often do not appear.

Capitalism depends upon the rich being fair and just even if they don't have to, and Socialism depends upon people working even if they don't have to.

Neither is realistic, or in concert with human nature. The only answer is a combination of both, where market forces are allowed to thrive so long as they're fair and just to the working and poor."

The Rules & who gets to write/enforce them determine the winners & losers

Capital gets a seat at the table for the writing/enforcing, the rest of us are relegated to the free speech zone several miles away

@rbreich why do we let billionaires exist at all is the real question

@rbreich

Why do we let people exist/control that much wealth?

@rbreich Because BaJillionaires are the only ones who can bribe... I mean, CONTRIBUTE to a politicians' income... I mean campaign war chest.

@rbreich

Listening to those apologists of wage slavery was agonizing. But I'm glad you suffered through it to at least plant a seed of doubt in the regular watchers of that channel.

@rbreich
JFC,,,those NBC shills should be on Fox...morons
@rbreich
Your opponent here is promoting the myth that these wealthy people create all of these jobs, products and services. We all know that is not true. If Elon Musk died tomorrow the planet would be better off, not worse. Also he fails to mention that these billionaires produce a disproportional amount of climate killing pollution. How much carbon is released every time Musk fires off one of his rockets? Same goes for Jeff Bozos...
