@emmreef I think if you think this over, you'll see how self-defeating the behavior you're advocating for would be.
@Geoffberner move along Canadian, move along
@emmreef I wonder if you would be willing to say what you're saying in the face of a Palestinian American who lost family members recently and won't vote for Biden because of that. I wonder.
@Geoffberner @emmreef Biden's supporters think that because he appears to be the lesser evil people must vote for him. Why must a binary choice be presented to voters like this. The US is a clown show because of this duopoly of hate. Who cares if Trump trashes the US institutions, most American presidents have been doing this anyway and doing far worse to other countries. And yes we will call out a possible Trump 2.0 all we want.
@ZillaMon @emmreef my feeling right now is that people should, in fact vote for Biden, who sucks. And that should be a very small part of the things they try to do in the political sphere. But if people can't bring themselves to do that, I see that as Biden's fault, not the fault of the voters. People scolding people for not voting is irritating because they believe they're "realistic" but haven't ever examined the question of whether the scoldings ever resulted in getting more people to vote. And they never do.
@Geoffberner @emmreef The sad reality is the many of the politicians are divorced from reality and from their voters true aspirations. This happens in a poor political system, a duopoly. Where politicians take it for granted that they will get votes because the other option is worse. People do NOT have to vote for Biden or anyone for that matter.
@ZillaMon @emmreef I agree. I think it would be better if they did, but if power comes with responsibility like spiderman's dad said, then it's Biden's responsibility to convince people to sacrifice time and effort to vote for him. If he can't do that, no ordinary people are to blame. It's not the non-voters' fault. It's the fault of the guy at the desk where the buck is supposed to stop.
@emmreef @Geoffberner American citizen here, registered to vote and having diligently done so in every election I could since I turned 18, seconding what Geoff is saying.
