I’d bet they pull a CS/OW and replace the original with an updated version that’s… worse.
I hope not, but hey.
Their plan was for poe2 to be an update to poe1, and for the player to be able to pick campaigns that share an endgame, but apparently the changes were so big that poe2 will be a separate game with separate mechanics. Both games will coexist.
Alright that’s pretty dope actually.
Some “sequels” lately have been so shit.
As a plus, we will maintain all microtransactions in between games, that is still a thing even if they are separate games.

looks like it's a lot more deliberate in the speed of the actions and how punishing/rewarding they are, and a lot more focus on interactions between abilities
the closed beta is in June 2024. Still some time to go ;)
