Hey, big brain computer hardware people. I've been building (assembling, really) my own computers for 20 years or so, but the idea of doing it again is filling me with dread and loathing. Is it worth it to just get a pre built PC, or am I better off building my own still?

For reference, here's a link to a potential custom build: newegg.io/42ac719

I ask because I've never been an expert at this. I just know which parts all plug into which.

@Cassie_Vulpine no shame in buying apre-built machine. If you're aiming for a gaming machine it might be worth looking into companies that specialise in gaming builds; those tend to have more scope for later modifcation, maintainence, and upgrades. whioch, after 20 years of self-builds, you'll probably want.
personally, I dont' have the energy to do all the research and handle all the stress, of full builds. so i'm happyto off-load that onto someone else.
@garrwolfdog For reals. The last time I put together a machine it seemed way more complex than I ever remember it being. And it's gotten impossible to keep up with all the different hardware specs. I think I'm just getting too old for this shit.
@Cassie_Vulpine I'm not sure if it's actually more complex these days, but so much has changed in fairly recent years that there's just a whole lot more to learn than before. it all boils down to pretty much the same stuff though, once you get through the jargon. and there's a ton of stuff thatw as really specialist back in the day that's just normal now (liquid cooling, addressabel case lights, etc etc). Nothing that can't be learned; a couple of hours on Youtube and you'll be back up to speed, i'm sure. but I find myself just feeling too old to care about a lot of it anymore. like, i've got better things to spend my energy on XD
