@ianbetteridge @DavidPenington This feels a bit strawman-ish. Are there people advocating for letting it just do the work? Even most AI evangelists are not advocating to use it this way.

The Internet Is Full of AI Dogshit - Aftermath

The Internet used to be so simple to use that people collectively coined the term “let me Google that for you” to make fun of people who had the audacity of asking other people questions online. In the future I fear that people will have no other choice but to ask people for information from the Internet, because right now it’s all full of AI dogshit.

@ianbetteridge I'm still not convinced. I'm sure there are some folks out there who mistakenly believe AI will be able to write their essays, or do their work, but the issue in the case you've brought up is less about AI and more about this person's unethical behavior that would have done the same thing if he didn't have AI.
