Holiday themed one-shots? - Lemmy.World

I’m looking to run a holiday/winter themed one-shot for a couple people in my board game group. Anyone have any suggestions? The system should be something easy to pick up and play without much prior knowledge (something like lasers and feelings for example). D&D 5E is also ok as long as the adventure doesn’t lean too heavily into it (personally not a fan of RAW 5E and would want to run it very rules light). The setting doesn’t have to be overtly holiday themed or cutesy, just vaguely winter and/or holiday themed. Some Krampus-related shit could be fun for example.

My go-to for free fun one-page one-shots is Grant Howitt’s itch.io page, there are a few Christmassy ones such as Wreck the Halls, We Three Kings, Last Christmas, and Seans Bean star in: A VERY NORTHERN CHRISTMAS

I’d recommend Killing Mr. Kringle.

It’s a very silly one shot, and it takes 0 prep. It’s a super-streamlined Forged in the Dark game where you’re mischievous little scamps instead of scoundrels.

We had a lot of fun with The Longnight Before Krampus. It’s a Pathfinder module, but it looked like it would be easy enough to convert to something less crunchy.
