Zelenskyy: Ukraine to receive warships to escort vessels in Black Sea grain corridor - Lemmy.World

Ukraine has arranged with its partners that it will be receiving warships to ensure the safety of ships in the grain corridor in the Black Sea. Source: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in response to questions from Ukrainska Pravda at the Grain From Ukraine conference in Kyiv on Saturday

I thought Turkey closed the Bosporus and Dardanelles to all warships? This will be great for Ukraine if they can get them.
There are other ways into the Black Sea…
Navigable by warships?
My guess is ‘warship’ is doing a ton of heavy lifting in this article. We are most likely talking about something navigable by the rivers routinely used for cargo](www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/…/zoom:6) that move through Europe into the Black Sea.

Ukraine has successfully turned waterbikes and rubber dinghies into warships, capable of taking down attack helicopters, fighter jets, and capturing all the rigs off the coast of Crimea.
Teleports?

I find it hard to believe that they will be receiving anyone larger than a glorified PT boat. Certainly nothing larger than a frigate.

Of which there are plenty of that class up and down the Danube.

I don’t think the canal through Russia is usable.
I hereby claim that canal as my territory. You can proceed now.
Pretty sure Turkey would let any warship belonging to Ukraine or their allies through the corridor. The Bosporus is only closed for Russian ships.
