Today's #NationalIllustrationDay, a new initiative from the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration. We hope the great Quentin Blake will forgive us for naming him our second favourite illustrator with that surname. William Blake worked as an engraver his whole professional life, engraving the illustrations of other artists and less frequently his own designs. This fantastically weird illustration is 'Fertilisation of Egypt', after a design by Henry Fuseli, for Erasmus Darwin's The Botanic Garden.
