I was trying to get some homebrew to run on my PS2 or PSOne so I could transfer games on to my pocketstation - but then I remembered I have the PS3 memory card adapter which is USB!
Sure enough someone's already written the tools to put PSX content on your "memory card" from your PC!

@SuperSelena64 That's a weird looking VMU. Can you still put Chao on it?
@NTICompass Haha, obviously not Chao but a lot of the "games" they put on it were tomagotchi style character-management games.
@SuperSelena64 Can you get a Spyro on it to take care of?

@NTICompass First of all - that's an adorable question to ask.

Second of all - sadly no. Spyro was developed by an NA studio, and we never got the PocketStation in NA, so very few NA games had PocketStation support.

@SuperSelena64 @NTICompass the only one that I know of was Final Fantasy VIII, which had some chocobo mini-game on the PocketStation. I remember reading about it in the manual, and being disappointed I couldn't find any more information about it anywhere.
@SuperSelena64 I used a freemcboot memory card on PS2 to do this, as I don't have the PC hardware to read playstation memory cards.
@alx5962 what software did you use? I had a PSX homebrew "game" for it, but was having difficulty getting it to work with PopStation
@SuperSelena64 I have to check my fmcb memory card. Did this a very long time ago.
@SuperSelena64 I used psx raw converter on pc , copied the converted saves to a usb thumb drive and used launchelf on ps2 (from freemcboot) to copy them to the pocket station.
@alx5962 Oh! That's an interesting technique! I should have thought of that!
Thank you, I like that idea!
@SuperSelena64 What is a pocket station?!
