Did you know that you can turn off auto-update in the Google Play appstore?
It allows you to keep old versions if an update contains something you don't like.
How many apps do you have frozen in time?

Orb 2069@christianp try using an apk extractor to back your apps up periodically - I recently had good luck with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ytheekshana.apkextractor
