@esther A superhuman AGI isn't even really about replicating human brain but building vast reasoning, computation, data collection, world probing capability, etc. sufficiently interconnected and with incentivization to do something useful & beneficial with all that.
OTOH these clowns are out to mimic the *worst*, most unintelligent aspects of human minds. Copying others' ideas badly, making broad and invalid generalizations and applying them in harmful ways, exploiting bugs in each other, ...
@esther IOW it's closer to (but still so far off) the 1970s/80s idea of "AI", intertwined with parsing & linguistics & formal logic, than the LLM garbage the crypto clown scammers have pivoted to peddling.
But the latter requires no intelligence to create, just burning bonkers amounts of fossil fuels on GPUs, so... 🤷
We're even pretty sure "processing" isn't what intelligence is made of & considering that's all our current tech can do, well...
There may not be laws preventing artificial sapience but there's almost certainly requirements we don't understand. Like survival pressure. A senso-motor system maybe. Procreation. We don't know that intelligence *isn't* dependent on things like that.
