Americans Are Falling Behind on Their Car Payments - Lemmy.World

Well, yeah, when people are spending $30K-$80K on a car, they’re likely gonna miss payments eventually. The car market, including used cars, has been over-inflated for years.
You’re also comparing 2003 prices to 2023 prices. Inflation occurred in the last 20 years.
It hurts to agree with you. Like I wanted to downvote you but then I checked an inflation calculator. The problem is wages haven’t kept up. I’m a normal period of inflation nobody notices because their purchasing power is unaffected. But if prices go up while wages stagnate then everyone notices.
