I think, though, that helping people understand the First Amendment issues at stake in the gag orders is less important than helping people understand that the real danger to democracy is misinformation and disinformation, and these things cannot be fixed through the legal system.
Rachel Maddow and Peter Strzok advocate for a whole-of-society response to this growing anti-democracy movement.
An over-reliance on a single bulwark of democracy lets fascists subvert each one in turn and create a cascade of failing institutions.
Better approach: multi-front opposition.
1. Support rule of law (oppose the public corruption of the Supreme Court)
2. Go after the moneyed who fund fascism. (Tax billionaires. Stop tax evasion & the underfunding of the IRS)
