Mastodon, we have a problem.

@Teri_Kanefield: I am beginning to think I waste my time and energy on social media... I came back to read my comments... and really, I feel ill.

@Popehat: ...find me on Bluesky... less like I'm likely to get screamed at...

@mmasnick: Same is mostly true for me.

@mattblaze: Getting close to joining you... The yelling here is getting to be a bit much.

Is the negativity all coming from any definable group or re specific issue? is there anything BlueSky does better to handle this or does it just depend on size and who gravitates to each service?

I really hope we don't lose our appreciation for social media in general. This medium has broken down so many walls for whose voices can get attention. I worry lots of people don't really want to hear from regular people.

Yeah, I was a bit baffled by what this was all about until you replied, and I did see that post of yours. This is very much how people on Twitter would respond, and I think they've come here recently with this learnt behaviour, having not yet realised #ThisIsntTwitter Glad to see you got some of them to snap out of it, but yeah, we just need to work on breaking-the-cycle with them and that behaviour.
