just found this old robot thing at a garage sale, looking to dump the firmware and put it online. any recommendations?
@ari oh yeah i've seen one of these before, everything is inside the chest but to open it you need to reach for a button inside of the mouth :D

@sneexy huh! that's weird... i get the mechanisms being inside the chest but the mouth button is a weird touch. wonder who built this?

i think they have more at the place i bought this from, but i figured the firmware would be the same across all of them. perhaps i should bring them all together in one place?

@ari i believe these were made to be as cheap as possible or something so it probably explains why these were made with buttons all over the place :/

if you can get the rest of them could you find a way to turn them on and record it for us? i'd like to see them all in action!

@sneexy yeah, would be cool! they probably do something special when they're all together.

probably wouldn't have them together for too long though- this one seems to have a kinda lingering smell... must not have been cleaned in a while

@ari eugh, yeah its probably also the best to deep clean them. maybe you could get a group to come over and help you clean it up and get it back to a working state? i'm sure there are people willing to help!

@sneexy yeah probably! i think for tonight i'll just leave it in the garage, though.

i was told by the seller to make sure it has space to move- apparently these have some sort of free-roaming functionality built-in? pretty cool i suppose, but i don't see any (working) power source in this thing. oh well!

@ari sounds cool! make sure the garage door is closed then, don't want them escaping if thats the case!
@sneexy
Also the designer of the circuit didn't design it right and the designs were handed off to another company who realised a button was needed. The only place they could put it was inside the mouth because the button connects boards in the head and in the chest.
