If gas bad for planet why smell so good
@christianselig Thiols are added to make it obvious to workers. Thiols are also in garlic and onion.
@christianselig If brownies are bad for body, why taste so good 🤔
@caseyliss @christianselig Sure, it was literally poisoning our brains and is probably responsible for record crime in the 90s and countless other societal ills, but leaded gas smelled so good.
@christianselig As someone suffering from parosmia for the past few months, I can confidently say that gasoline, coffee and shit all smell identical.

@christianselig I will never understand the people who say this. It smells awful.

I just spent a few minutes trying to think of similar smells that are of something objectively awful but tbh none of those things is more awful than toxic liquid burning. Really, that’s the smell: toxic. It smells like it’s going to kill you.

@gormster @christianselig there’s no such thing as an objectively awful smell. I agree that it smells bad, it just not objective…
@Mister_Eel @christianselig yeah I was trying to think of things that are objectively awful (eg rotten food, corpse) that also smell similar to petrol (which those two don’t). There’s a particular way that wine or beer can go rancid that does smell a lot like it, but (a) I don’t think many people have smelled that and (b) I don’t think that in terms of ā€œbad thingā€ that actually ranks worse than petrol itself. Other than that, what smells like petrol? Sharpies? Cocaine? You see the problem.
@christianselig
Planet emu capillary bronze decision.
Troofax, deffo.
@christianselig if pizza bad for health why taste so good.
@christianselig If markers not for huffing, why also smell so good?
