I just spent a few minutes trying to think of similar smells that are of something objectively awful but tbh none of those things is more awful than toxic liquid burning. Really, thatās the smell: toxic. It smells like itās going to kill you.

@Mister_Eel @christianselig yeah I was trying to think of things that are objectively awful (eg rotten food, corpse) that also smell similar to petrol (which those two donāt). Thereās a particular way that wine or beer can go rancid that does smell a lot like it, but (a) I donāt think many people have smelled that and (b) I donāt think that in terms of ābad thingā that actually ranks worse than petrol itself. Other than that, what smells like petrol? Sharpies? Cocaine? You see the problem.
