Mastodon often doesn’t seem to love my art BUT I’m super proud of this little guy - still needs some work but I’m trying to make Inktober all about getting shit done, not getting shit perfect.

@nyquildotorg ahh, interesting quirk of Masto / federation maybe! I’ve added some words to the post itself in the hopes of defeating that quirk, curious if you can see that (or maybe there’s just time needed for the propagation to other instances)…

@amyherself I suspect the issue is someone boosted this post, but nobody on my instance followed you. So the copy here on my instance couldn't get an update notification. I've since followed you, so I suspect your edit will cause it to update here.

@RyunoKi @nyquildotorg yep, seems to be a quirk of Masto - forget the alt text at time of posting and it haunts you forever no matter how fast you fix it 😂😂

@amyherself @RyunoKi my theory is that posts which you see because they were boosted into your feed rather than because you follow the user don't get updated with edits unless someone on your instance does follow the poster.
