Being at #AgileTD makes me hopeful that a more tolerant and open society is possible.
I'm incredibly grateful that I can safely be my full self here and I will do my best to create safe spaces for others.

@the_qa_guy I recently re-read the blog post of yours and always tear up at this passage:

> I was incredibly worried about negative reactions, of being called a freak or being kicked out of the shop. The opposite happened – once the tailor understood that I was serious she had fun to make my body shine in this outfit. When I saw myself in the mirror wearing the fitted dress I felt sexy for the first time in my life.

Because that angst runs so deep in me and the relief how well this worked out for you is giving me incredible hope.

Thank you for sharing, it really means a lot to me :3

@ljrk Thank you for reaching out. I'm so happy that this is giving you hope. I still don't know if I'm incredibly lucky or if people generally are better than we take them for but please never give up hope 💜
One thing I could have mentioned additionally: There's no need to do this alone! Having a trusted person with me reduces my worries so much, maybe that's also an option for you?

@the_qa_guy I'm sooo grateful for you having written this experience down! :3

Yes, this indeed helps, although I wouldn't dare buy a dress yet except online. But I recently bought a snazzy blazer in Barcelona (after having only positive experiences there) while being accompanied by my gf, a mutual friend and her mom :'-)

The tripled support definitely helped!!

@ljrk WOW! That blazer and skirt combination looks gorgeous on you!
I'm so happy for you that you found it and that you had such great support 💜

@the_qa_guy Thank you!! :3 It was truly amazing an experience and the people at the shop were *so* understanding!

And thanks again for being so publicly outspoken about your experience, especially also as a parent with children! Reading those stories feels incredibly liberating! <3
