I got a Paxlovid prescription. Should I get it and take it? #covid

@freeformz depends on your age and risk factors. It's a modest reduction in LC risk (15pc??), but if you spend double the amount of time testing positive b/c u rebound, it is unclear whether that negates (or worse) the LC benefit of taking it.

Im 59 and have previously recovered from post viral chronic fatigue and I do not plan to take it. I have a prescription for metformin and have a protocol for taking that from an RCT study that found quicker recovery and 40pc reduction in LC risk. 1/2

@freeformz chance of rebound on pax about 20 percent per Stat News reporting of a new study out yesterday. In my circle, rate of Pax rebound is much higher than that, perhaps b/c we skew 40s and 50s with co morbidities of varying severity. We may be metabolizing it too quickly. My. 81yo mom is mid-pax rebound right now and miserable, getting COVID for the second time in six months from my sister, a high school teacher. 2/2
@freeformz it seems that #Paxlovid , like everything else associated with #COVID, is a spin of the roulette wheel. 🫠
