@yurnidiot @drahardja I’ve been thinking this a while. I am sure there are many other high level execs who are just as bad or worse but they don't share their personal thoughts with the world. The ones who do not share are at least smart enough to know that their thoughts would cause consequences not just for them but everyone who has worked hard to make their company successful. Elon Musk does not care how his actions harm anyone. He seems to think there are no consequences.

The fact that the US has one of the lowest intergenerational vertical social mobility scores in the developed world heavily suggests that this is the case a lot of the time.
@yurnidiot This is the hilarious thing. He had everything to just live a good life and be thought of as a bit of a genius and only slightly unhinged, but EVERYTHING he does always ends up with egg on his face and more and more people figuring out he's just a complete loser who happens to have a shitton of money.
@yurnidiot
ikr? I don't think billionaires are particularly smart or hard-working, but people like Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos at least have the good sense to go to a therapist instead of dumping on social media for a long amount of time. Which is the kind of basic professionalism that most companies expect from their employees and especially from their managers.
@yurnidiot Trump has a partly similar story. While his gaudy personality and business failures were no secret, I didn't know how gobsmackingly rotten and stupid he was until I watched the TV show which was supposed to make him look like a genius. Every 40 minute stretch of his life is the personality equivalent of a $2 billion bankruptcy.

@NIH_LLAMAS @yurnidiot That isn’t the half of it. Check out #NoelCasler’s early podcasts. He was a PA on 2-3 seasons and has some brilliant opinions to offer.

@yurnidiot Copy and paste this for 90% of rich or famous people, honestly.
@yurnidiot Somewhere, Jeff Bezos has been gloating all through this. (By somewhere I mean one of his superyachts or regal mansions, of course.)

@yurnidiot

And chance.

Don't forget chance.

There's a whole population of Musks and Theils out there who never made it big.

@yurnidiot If it weren't for Twitter, I would probably also think that in addition to not being marvellously unintelligent, incurious, that he wasn't TEDIOUS. Like there was a time I thought that he was at least potentially interesting in his motivations or just the slightest bit charismatic. But his Twitter self showed that he was basically all of the dudebros I grew up with who went full boomer when they turned 30.

@Coprolite @yurnidiot

Honestly I never saw Musk as charismatic in the slightest. Every time he talks, all I hear is stammering and filler words.

@EFreethought @yurnidiot They used to be better about getting his face out there without letting him free-form.
@yurnidiot you nailed it. I think most of us knew he had issues, it's been obvious for years that he is on the spectrum. But you were clear and concise.
