Yo if you like 0079, deffo check out 8th MS Team when you’re done. It’s a shorter, more grounded story about the grunts of the One Year War and while the rest of the UC series get into the Newtype developments, this is a change of pace from that.
Gundam is fun as hell, and, as a side note, I’ve been really enjoying sparking up and carefully sanding and painting gundam models. It’s meditative in a way, plus you get to lay out all sorts of fun tools and learn a few tricks along the way.
It’s next on my list! I did War in the Pocket before starting 0079. I also crushed Witch from Mercury over the summer.
I got into Gundam earlier this year, had my honeymoon in Japan, went to see the Unicorn and RX-78F00. Picked up a few HG kits, I just finished this Heavyarms I got at Gundam Factory Yokohama!
Also a big fan of lighting one up and doing a build, although I hated the all clear plastic, even with sanding I got some gnarly stress marks on the nubs. Might try a RG next and be a little more adventurous with the painting.

My wife and I got COVID this past week/end, so I decided to finally make my clear Heavyarms I got from Gundam Factory in Yokohama. I’d painted the weapons a few weeks earlier. The clear plastic was rough to work with, managed to get a few stress marks, just cutting off the runner felt brittle at times. But overall I’m very happy with it and excited for my next build. I’ve got the HG 1/144 GM (Shoulder Cannon/Missile Pod) on preorder and then I might give a RG kit a go.

A year later I’m doing AoT and of course fell asleep at the end of S2, waking up a few episodes into S3 thoroughly confused
I’m slowly realising I might be getting old and just need more sleep… But I’m not willing to believe that yet

I haven’t! he seems to not be on lemmy much, he’s made a few posts on Mastodon so he’s still around I just think lemmy is not his focus.
Might need to poke him sometime to get Lemmy updated because we’re falling quite a few versions behind.

It’s always been kinda weird, weed for me is one of those things where I’ll get an itch and smoke a shitload every evening for a week straight, then it loses its luster a bit, I’ll go “meh” and then not touch it for three months.
I’m in the same boat. Though I try to be careful since I’ve had issues with alcohol use in the past. Not that the two are all that similar. But I don’t feel the drive or desire to smoke like I did when I was drinking, and I only ever smoke when I’m in a decent mood.

Otherwise just chilling hanging out in my offgrid tent past few months while focsing on helping my parents through the process of getting my niece and nephew adopted.
