@GottaLaff I didn't have it but my wife did. It hit the Virgin Islands pretty hard in 2014.

@GottaLaff

It's a very nasty disease prevalent in areas where the type of mosquito that carries it is present, spread by mozzies - it's called break back fever as it causes dreadful back and joint pain which can persist for months. It is however rarely fatal.

@GottaLaff I believe it historically has been a West African disease.
Around 2013 there was an outbreak in the Caribbean. With cases showing up in SE Florida, mainly Caribbean islanders or Americans visiting relatives or taking cruises. Elderly/ compromised patients could present with joint pain, viral syndrome leading to death.
@GottaLaff saw chik mentioned on a rerun of Bones recently
@GottaLaff Ill take a vaccine for a virus I don’t know over the inverse. I solidified this belief around March, 2020.
@GottaLaff @lisamelton this was a big problem in India a few years ago. Keeps popping up every now and then but has since been controlled better.
@GottaLaff Relatives in India were really affected by it. I'm glad to hear there's a vaccine.
