The most famous ukiyo-e, Japanese block print, "The Great Wave off Kanazawa", was done by Hokusai, which this anime is about. Well, the title character is his daughter.

They also drew a lot of porn, obviously, because that was literally the hentai of that era

@anianimalsmoe I was in one castle in Japan once that had an amazing Ukiyo-e display…and then at some point I turned a corner and it was all hentai ukiyo-e without warning 🙈
