Claim on LinkedIn about quantum computing successfully cracking 2048 bit RSA -- this guy looks like he could be a new entry in Underwood Dudley's _Mathematical Cranks_ to me, even though he did co-author at least one conference presentation with Ron Rivest back in 2001 and has a physics background in laser optics. His preprint from March/April of this year that begins "Quantum computing arrives" looks like full-blown crankery, a very poorly argued attack on complex numbers.
Looks like he has a bunch of self-published books that are all self-proclaimed massive breakthroughs. They have very few ratings.
The individual appears to have a legitimate laser physics background, mostly in Brazil but also including time at the Max Planck Institute in Germany before doing some cryptography and electronic voting work and doing his own thing with that and his self-publishing since about 2001.
I think this guy should partner up with Crown Sterling.
Researcher Claims to Crack RSA-2048 With Quantum Computer

A scientist claims to have developed an inexpensive system for using quantum computing to crack RSA, which is the world's most commonly used public key algorithm. If true, this would be a breakthrough that comes years before experts predicted. Now, they're asking for proof.
