The Schuman makeover already has a long history. The Brussels region launched an international design competition "One Schuman" back in 2009 or 2010! Local firm XDGA (cf. Place Rogier) came out as a winner, but their proposal never materialised amid financial and technical gisagreements. A new competition was launched in 2015, and resulted in the Cobe-Brut-plan that we still have today.
