If you think sex workers "sell their bodies," but coal miners do not, your view of labor is clouded by your moralistic view of sexuality -- Eric Sprankle, PsyD

We Support Sex Work On This Timeline

EDIT: Lots of Favorites but not a bunch of BOOST. I wonder why...

@nlarson830 -- First one brave enough to do it.
BRAVO

@jeffowski

There's people getting paid to do legit bad bad shit, and others spending big to enable it. They're not out to make a living, they're making money to do bad shit.
Fuck them.
Folks need to concentrate on the big time bastards.

Sex Workers making a living 'with their body'... well every photo model does the same and they don't seem to cop much shit for it. Singers selling their voice.

One could look closely at the Conservative Ideal Wife Concept, where they stay home just to serve their man sex to have kids and do the cooking and cleaning, and look nice at fundraisers. Apex slaves is the concept. Fuckin hypocritical bullshit.

@jeffowski yeah. I wonder why. 😜
@buchling -- It's that people are afraid of being judged by others. Sex, in particular, is a subject that brings a lot of judgment by society because people have been indoctrinated into an authoritarian moral code based on control through the church and mainstream media.
@jeffowski I was trying to be funny. Sorry. I absolutely know why baby people don't want to share this one.

@jeffowski @buchling As George Carlin said a long time ago....

"Selling is legal. Fucking is legal. Why isn't selling fucking legal???"

@jeffowski Sex Work Is Real Work.

Landlord Is Not.

@jeffowski In case we are nominated for the Supreme Court, it might be awkward to explain.
@jeffowski
Agreed. I second what you said, and would like to add the following:

Why Are Sex Workers Forced to Wear a Financial Scarlet Letter? | The Walrus

Discrimination against sex work has become a flashpoint for advocates of freedom of expression and economic rights

The Walrus
@greyelephant -- Mercy to whom? What are they guilty of? Who is cruel and who is the innocent that is hurt?
This is very unclear and looks "trolly", but the link you added is about privacy and is about sex workers peripherally.
@jeffowski
I’m sorry allow me to clarify.
I thought the quote was thought provoking which is why I added it. The first link is regarding social stigmas regarding sex workers, the other is about story about privacy concerns for them too. Or that’s what I intended. I did not mean to sound like a troll.

@Wraithe -- Ugh... You inadvertently got involved in a spat about alt-text on this post and I said I wouldn't add alt-text in spite.
But I also promised that anyone that added alt-text via comments, that I would always add that to the pictures.
A promise is a promise.

PS-
The Order of the Stick is awesome.

@jeffowski Oh hahahaha sorry, yeah that’s what I do as kind of a reflex now, I see something that is a good message but missing Alttext, I usually add alt text and share it anyways.
So, I’m right there with you.
I agree that altText is hugely important but the whole holy ā€œI don’t retweet without altTextā€ is counter productive.
Anyways enough speechifying, was a good message, keep it up! šŸ˜€
@jeffowski And yes, obviously I love OOTS :)
