“Climate” may be a scientifically accurate term in this context, but is has not, imho, ever proven to be an effective way to convey or describe the planetary emergency to the mass public. One can only imagine how much the polluting industries and supporters thereof can’t believe their good fortune with such a weak term commanding the mediasphere and public consciousness.
