One of the most toxic things about #capitalism is how it normalizes parasocial relationships with corporations.

People _want_ to like or even love the company that gives them a magical brick that lets them connect with other people all over the planet. And the company will produce a vast array of ads and marketing to support that desire for affinity.

But underneath it all is an amoral profit maximizing machine that cares nothing for you or the planet you live on.
