We should be terrified about what #HurricaneOtis did to #Acapulco. It's not just that #ClimateChange is making hurricanes stronger, it's the lightning speed with which they now intensify. Otis went from being a tropical storm to a #Category5 hurricane in *12 hours*. There's no way a city of 1 million people can prepare in that little time.

@BruceMirken

Hurricanes everywhere.

End Carbon Fuels

@BruceMirken it's fine we'll just incur the cost of preparing for gigantic hurricanes or major frosts or hailstorms or wildfires or wet bulb every time there's any weather event rather than generate and use electricity in a way that doesn't make the air also poisonous while also paying huge subsidies to massively profitable businesses that exist solely to continue poisoning us
@BruceMirken I have noticed that the NWS predictions of rain amounts in Napa are trending to be less than what actual happens. It is frightening.
@visionsofnapa @BruceMirken
How much less, please?
What source do you use for the predictions?

@EugestShirley @BruceMirken

Hi Shirley, I have been using the National Weather Services hourly forecasts for Napa for years. For rainfall summary I have been using the Napa Onerain site. Over the last year or so the amount of rain Napa has gotten has exceeded the amount predicted.
