When there's only one way to update products and the downloader you're *required* to use doesn't appear to want to update said products, your downloader is shit. #RolandCloud
I miss the days of direct downloading installers and running them by-hand in certain circumstances, anyway.
@FreakyFwoof anytime I have an app that does auto downloads like JFW, or tweesecake, I will let it update that way, but I still go get the actually direct installer just in case. I really don't like apps that you can't do that with.
@FreakyFwoof I don’t miss my first installation of Windows. It was on like 32 or 34 floppy disks. I had gone from an Apple 2e which I had for 11 years to a Gateway 2000 Windows 95. I had taken a Dot class but had to install Win95 after owning the computer less than a month. Best way to learn I suppose.
@blind5sparrow Been there, done that. Installed win95 onto a DX2-66 machine via floppies, because at the time that machine didn't have a CD drive. I put one in later, and one single disk was more space than the entirety of the hard drive inside it. That always amused me.
