@depereo @w7voa I'm originally from Iowa. Only been away, really, for about 5 years now. Chuck's been a senator there my entire life. He used to be a decent politician. I mean, I'd still disagree with him. But that's it. Agree to disagree, right? Sometimes he could even be bipartisan (*gasp*). And now that I think about it, a lot of other Republicans were like that, too. I mean, there /were/ Republicans that I could respect, even if I did disagree with them.

@depereo @w7voa It's just like something has changed since ~2015. Like a lever got pulled or a switch just clicked. And now, instead of slowly implementing their nefarious policies over generations, they've ramped up into hyperdrive. It almost feels like they somehow see it as if they don't do it *ALL* now, it will never happen. Hence overturning Roe v. Wade. Hence the current war on education.

@acrousey @depereo @w7voa yeah I’ve been gone for 20+ yrs. Once Branstad installed Reynolds they knew they could grab all the reactionary things they wanted AND get a big piece of the 25 billion dollar farm bailout when trump killed the pork market with his overnight tariffs. They’ve always been craven. They don’t have to hide it anymore.
