@jeffowski General Strikes have a long and proud history.

Think we're due?

@book @jeffowski we have been for a long time, but it’s still a few years away at best
@f00fc7c8 @jeffowski @book yeah it's like fusion - perpetually only a couple of decades of hard work from being viable
@sleepfreeparent @jeffowski @book the difference with a general strike is that the work needed to build up to it (i.e. constructing large inter-industry unions and making smaller strikes) has immediate positive consequences and won’t completely go to waste if the general strike never happens
@f00fc7c8 @jeffowski @book ooh, good point.
Also we mustn't forget building up a mutual aid infrastructure to help meet people's material needs for at least the duration of the strike
@jeffowski The Romans had a set of balls we don't have. We have the power in numbers yet, collectively speaking, we seem to suffer from Stockholm Syndrome.

@jeffowski

Now we just call that a General Strike. I suggest we use it.

@jeffowski
.......and later on, they made a movie about it... A Day Without A Mexican
@jeffowski
It worked against the anti-immigration bigots near here
