Sorry, dork here. Can someone explain please? All I see is a picture, no text to expand on caption.

HP sold a printer with ‘no’ usb port, touting it as completely wireless, and you had to use their bullshit app setup and cloud because no wired connection! None!

There was a usb port, under a sticker, that was functional. This modular PSU appears to be the same obscuration, not sure if those ports are wired though

HP wants you to print things through its cloud service, wherein you pay a subscription fee for ink and your usage is routed through its servers. To encourage you to do this, it covers the USB port …

Thanks!!! Hilarious.

HP made a wifi-only printer (to collect your data). Someone noticed it’s not WiFi only, it’s just a normal printer with a sticker over the USB port because they couldn’t be bothered to make an entire new printer model to badger you into using.

Whatever the Thermal take PSUs are, it looks like they pulled a similar trick with their hidden ports.

Thank you for the explanation. I like to say “fuck the Chinese government” but also “Fuck HP” and all the other sketchy printing companies.
You’re probably gonna have a bad time using that connector, can’t imagine it was blocked for no reason.
