@mainframed767 @emmaaum what's sketchy about it?

The advantage of #reVanced is that I can block all ads, even in-video promos, which are getting way too common. And I can use my YouTube account, and therefore my subscriptions. Last time I used #peerTube it couldn't do these - but that might have changed by now.

@oxpal @mainframed767 @emmaaum But PeerTube isn't even YouTube? The idea in using it is that you're using an alternative to YouTube, not that you're getting your YouTube without ads.

@kuroshi @mainframed767 @emmaaum PeerTube it's more fundamentally different. But reVanced has a ton of 'patches' now, that allow you to change much to your preferences.
So it depends on what you prefer.

Both apps tend to break when YouTube changes things on their side. So sometimes switching is necessary.

@oxpal @mainframed767 @emmaaum I’m missing what PeerTube has to do with YouTube. I thought PeerTube was a peer to peer video hosting system, not a way of defeating YouTube ads?
@kuroshi @mainframed767 @emmaaum OMG, you're right. I thought we're still talking about Pipe.
Yeah, PeerTube is different.
Sorry for the confusion.
