In Just War theory, a response must be proportional & not directed at non-combatants. Israel has used western support to violate both of these repeatedly.
As far as launching rockets from buildings. Israel has stolen nearly all of Palestine at this point. Yes, stolen and done so in violation of UN declarations and Israeli agreements to return land. No right to complain when they created the situation.

I agree that there's never a just cause to start a war, but I cannot deny people the right of self defense. We saw that in the Vietnam war. The French, Japanese, and then America* tried to exert colonial control and pillaged the country for decades.
Our leaders lied us into that war, costing over 3 million lives.
Similarly, Israel has been oppressing Palestinians for decades. I cannot damn them for lashing out.
