“It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.”

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, a collection of twelve short stories by British writer Arthur Conan Doyle, was first published #OTD in 1892. It contains the earliest short stories featuring Sherlock Holmes, which had been published in The Strand Magazine from July 1891 to June 1892.
