For this week's #SeiyuuSaturday, we're looking at #NobuhikoOkamoto (b. 1986), who began voice acting in 2006.

We start in 2013, where Okamoto voiced the protagonist Age in #PatemaInverted. A boy who looks towards a forbidden sky while dealing with his trauma, he becomes a link between two worlds and finds someone who he'd sacrifice anything for. Okamoto does a nice job of giving him an everyman tone while still convincing us that he has the capabilities to rise above the everyday.

Jumping all the way to 2021, Okamoto voiced a more laid-back character as Sengoku in #horimiya. Hori's childhood friend/victim and the student council president, Sengoku often finds himself caught up in whatever bullshit is going on that week. Okamoto's voice takes on a more whiny quality to bring across Sengoku's soft nature, although is still able to show the kindness within all of Horimiya's characters.
In 2022, Okamoto got to be another best friend as Inuzuka in #ShikimorisNotJustACutie. The friend of Izumi, Inuzuka is, like his name, very excitable and always ready to have some fun while also being there to support his friends. Okamoto gives a solid, energetic performance in this series.
2023 saw Okamoto playing a real despicable son of a bitch as Shishido in #revenger. Originally presented as the head of the Nagasaki Trade Union, he ends up being one of the major players of the series and with darker intentions than anyone expected. Okamoto's constant smile of a performance only amplifies how vile Shishido is as his layers become unraveled.
Finally, also in 2023, Okamoto voiced the cop Arase in #deadmountdeathplay. Part of a special unit that investigates strange incidents, Arase has rightfully earned a reputation as a "mad dog", his ever-present smile hiding the violence that lies within him. Okamoto here is able to perfectly balance the line between affable and intimating, sometimes in the same breath.
