A year ago, all major economists were predicting a recession as the Fed moved to raise interest rates to battle inflation. But Joe Biden’s and the Democrats’ investment in infrastructure and manufacturing kept the job market strong and resilient, and now there is almost no talk of a recession. Bidenomics is working. Inflation is down, unemployment at historic lows, real wages rising. We should proclaim it far and wide and push back against the doom and gloom the media feeds us and feeds upon.
@georgetakei This is WRONG and BAD! UNLESS Biden was a Republican which would make it RIGHT and GOOD!
@georgetakei But why write about any of that when the media can just publish a dozen more “Biden is old” stories instead? It’s really frustrating how little recognition he is getting for what has been a very productive first term.

ANALYSIS | Markets are flashing red, and 'something is going to break' | CBC News

Economic data has been surprisingly resilient, but financial markets don't believe the numbers. What messages and warnings are markets sending — and should we be heeding them?

@georgetakei

Take note of the sources from which the doomcrying narratives are arising.

Republican billionaire donors. The same ones that thrive on short sells on oil based on Putin's genocidal war on Ukraine.

The same ones who profited from prolonging a pandemic to extract government bailouts, the biggest in history.

The same ones frying the planet yet demanding oil drilling & logging in national parks.

The same ones funding a coup & corrupting the Supreme Court

Nikki Haley 2024 Fundraising Includes Harlan Crow, Rich Republican Donors

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is embarking on a cross-country fundraising sprint with the help of billionaire Harlan Crow and others in an attempt to court a deep bench of donors who could propel her push to break out as the main alternative to frontrunner Donald Trump.

@georgetakei and according to my Republican mom things are terrible
@thelastpinkcar @georgetakei my daughter has an Indian roommate who has repeatedly explained to her that the USA economy is now worse than it ever was in the great depression.
#confidentlyincorrect
@georgetakei I'll totally do that once I figure out why Biden is doing this. Apart from the fact that it's a crime against humanity, why is he depressing his base going into an election? https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/biden-administration-waives-26-federal-laws-to-allow-border-wall-construction-in-south-texas/ar-AA1hHXd1

@georgetakei Bidenomics is a wonderful return to the status quo we enjoyed in the early 2010s. But it’s a different world now. Maybe he should focus on wiping out $2,000,000,000,000 from the federal budget? We spent more than that much in Afghanistan since 9/11, but that’s also what student loan debtors will owe by the time Biden is up for re-election.
@georgetakei and oil prices are coming back down again. GOP just focuses on the border. Where is their immigration reform legislation. No where to be found.
@georgetakei It’s almost as if the Friedman model is bullshit and that direct government intervention in the economy works.
@georgetakei yeah where is that recession Musk was predicting 2 years ago? All just wishful thinking to get the democrats out of power and install their no regulation/no taxes, fascist autocrat to let them run rampant while average Americans suffer.
@georgetakei that is right on
George, unfortunately doing what's right does not
always produce the most popular optics.
If I were Joe I would be grooming a winning democrat with the right instincts to destroy Donald
Trump. I can always hope, can't I?

@georgetakei

Gee. It's like Biden actually understood the point of Roosevelt's New Deal. Damn Commie Roosevelt. 😂

@georgetakei do you know a lot of people who were struggling financially before Biden, who are doing much better now? It seems like you'd have to be independently wealthy yourself to be fooled by economist numbers into thinking Biden has made things better.
@georgetakei Don't count the dollars, count the hours and effort to afford something. How many hours to afford shelter, food, utilities, college...don't be fooled by minimum wage increases. We're more screwed than ever and it's only growing worse.
@georgetakei No offense, but you’re wealthy. Real inflation is not down. I’ve never made so much and felt so poor

@georgetakei Trump has a single path to victory: people are angry because prices are high at the grocery store and on their rent, and they vote against Biden.

Biden didn't cause either of those, but that won't matter. The Republic will end because voters misattribute powers over corporate capitalists to the Presidency.

@georgetakei@universeodon. This town like my hometown is becoming like a ghost town.
My former best friend has become so lost in music he cannot even imagine how long since he last visited me.
As a professional DJ he is engaged in international events arranged systematically to maximize impact in order to make some money. One would not bet on it but it was about time he come to know the truth as it remains to be seen how he would react if he could see the road leading to my house deserted.
