Tom MacWrighti want like google maps but you can pin a route and look for spots you want to go near it, and see places you've been to but not with crappy google places ux, make a quick alternative version to see whether a different transit mode is faster
this would really kinda have to be google maps-based because there's no real comparing to the poi data set etc, and it's not like 'map making' like placemark or felt, it's just like, quick planning mode.
that said this is "a consumer app" which is treacherous business and my mind palace of 'working in geospatial' is more like a troll dungeon nowadays so i will probably not build it, but still, i do wish it existed, google maps and the rest of google's products are oppressively common denominator
