As most of my friends are aware, I love #Halloween and like to #YardHaunt.

I prefer a traditional cemetery theme and lean toward realistic props, especially my tombstones. I make my own, because most of the pre-made stones don't meet my standards.

They're often made of cheap EPS styrofoam (aka the white beads that get everywhere), are made too thin or too small (or both), are unsubtle about the decorations, use pathetic ground stakes, and often have cringe jokey inscriptions.

NOT a fan.

@Dyne I'd be interested in how you make them assuming not actually stone.   How do you keep upright? Any pictures would be great. Was thinking of doing my own.
Thanks.

My process is very similar to what other haunters such as Derek over at VanOaks Props do. He has a good video on it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEAAqlxw0IQ

Edit: Removed the bit about the acrylic because I forgot that was actually in there.

As for securing them, I drill long holes into the stone for lengths of PVC pipe. The pipe fits over two pieces of metal rebar pushed into the ground. Derek also has a tutorial on that process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luyjpX5b5pQ
