I find my best mobile Mastodon experience is in a mobile browser (usually Firefox). I find it just as easy to navigate as any app and I also have access to all my lists and settings. I just reloaded the apps this evening to see if I felt improvement (I did not).

What’s your preferred mode of mobile Mastodon? Feel free to add details in the replies.

Why not both? PWAs like @elk and @phanpy offer the convenience of a website but with notifications and an app-like experience.
@josh I like viewing with IceCubes but it has its limitations.
@josh I mostly use the #IceCubes app, but go back to the browser on some occasions (eg do a proper report, see markdown formatting). The main advantage of the app is how easy it is to switch accounts.
@josh ice cubes on iOS. Firefox on an iPhone doesn’t really make any sense, if I get the Safari engine under the hood…
@josh For now, @mammoth seems to do what I need. Not perfect, but reasonably workable across a number of functionalities. (It’s suggested autocompletions at the bottom of the text box is so subtle that I missed them for a while.)
@josh Meta on ios, occasionally icecubes if I need to edit a post. If I use the browser I end up with lots of open tabs; reading in the app browser forces me to look at one thing at a time
@josh I've been using elk.zone in a mobile browser and like it a lot.
