⚠ Meta will apparently to move to a "Pay for your Rights" model in the European Union!

EU users would then have to pay $ 168 a year if they don't want to give up their fundamental right to privacy on Facebook and Instagram. This move is inacceptable.

Meta (Facebook / Instagram) to move to a "Pay for your Rights" approach

In order to bypass the GDPR, Meta apparently plans to move to a "Pay for your Rights" approach

@noybeu I wonder how they came up with the €160/year, although I expect it's somehow either a dishonest or disingenuous reflection of what privacy-violations of privacy-oriented users is worth.

Given that users incentivized by privacy protection already use ad blockers and hate ads, I think it's worth less.

But it's probably not a good idea to signal otherwise to for instance share holders?
