j2i.netI realized that I can tell the state of my brake lights at night through the reflection on the street signs. I finally know when my brake lights turn on. They turn on when ever the car is slowing down! (which does not imply that I am touching the brakes). 2023 #Chevy #ChevroletBoltEUV
Some have conjectured there is a hardware accelerometer in the car driving the brake lights. I think that would be unnecessary hardware. The car has a speedometer. Acceleration can be derived from speed. Why would an additional component be needed?
Though the car holds stationary on its own from a complete stop, I apply brakes at that point for the sake of having the brake lights be on.
