When we moved to this valley 25 years ago, we always celebrated if we could make it to Sept 18 -20th without a killing frost. Today we will have tomatoes and basil with our lunch. All week we will have highs in the above 80°F and lows in the 50's.

@bethsawin In SoCal we have a new kind of mosquito. They say it’s been here a few years, but this is the first year it’s affecting my ability to hang in my yard.

“Since Aedes mosquitoes bite more aggressively it may appear there are more numbers of mosquitoes. Aedes bite very aggressively compared to our native Culex mosquitoes and can make even short periods of time outdoors difficult.”
