Thoughts on each dance:
Adam & Luba: This was a strange one, because he didn't go really go wrong, but there was something off about the dance. I wonder if there was an issue with weight distribution on his feet? It's a shame, because you can tell he was really trying, but something not right with this.
Amanda & Giovanni:
Angela R. & Kai: I thought this was lovely! I wish they had given her a nicer hairstyle though, as she danced so youthfully being light on her feet, one of the better dances of the night.
Angela S. & Carlos: I loved this! Really high energy, great snappy kicks and flicks, and she was in character for the whole time! She dropped off a little in the last few moments, but overall did great!!
Annabel & Johannes: This felt a bit stunted, she seemed too nervous to really feel the dance. Plus, it felt a bit stop-and-start at times, as well as too skippy in parts. Great stamina though and I liked the choreography.
Bobby & Dianne: Really enjoyed this, he did get a little... distracted at times though? Didn't fully finish all his movements, but I loved the energy, performance, and that flip move near the end was amazing!
Eddie & Karen: This was a fantastic salsa, with great musicality, smooth hips, and lovely flexibility in his arms. Problem was that this was supposed to be a cha-cha, and I hardly saw any cha-cha. It's a real shame because I loved the dance, but it wasn't a cha-cha! Not sure what Karen was thinking with the choreography!!
Ellie & Vito: I loved this!! So light and effortless, and her characterisation was fun to watch with Vito. One of my tops of the night, I had a big smile on my face as I watched it!
Jody & Jowita: This was so sad to watch! He went wrong multiple times, and it threw him off each time. I also feel his frame and posture were off throughout too, but that have been due to the mistakes. I'm glad he didn't land in the bottom two, and I'm sure he'll do better next week!
Krishnan & Lauren: Really cute choreography, and I do think he's trying his best! His frame drooped at times, and there isn't much musicality, but Strictly is at its best when we see contestants gradually improve, and I think he will!
Layton & Nikita: It was a perfect dance, there's a reason why (I think) it's the first dance in Strictly history to get four nines in week 2. I think Nikita is doing a great job with same-sex male choreography!
Nigel & Katya: Really liked this one, I thought he was effortlessly silly smooth and it was so enjoyable to watch! I do think his frame slightly struggled near the very end, but one of my tops of the night, gorgeous!
Nikita & Gorka: This was quite forgettable. I'm not sure why the choreographers (I believe outsider choreographers come in for the Charleston) restricted her movement to just in front of that prop stand, it was like it was choreographed for a stage rather than a dancefloor. Regardless, she didn't have the snappiness required for the dance, and she seemed a little disconnected from the performance. I'm not surprised she was in the bottom two, but I'm glad she stayed.
Zara & Graziano: I didn't think this was too good. She still seems so nervous, and a bit like she was struggling to keep up with Graziano - whose choreography I loved! I was worried she would end up in the bottom two, but she was safe!
Les & Nancy: Poor Les! The samba shouldn't have been given to him this early, it's such a hard dance style! Nancy did her best with choreography, but there was zero double bounce action from Les, and then he went wrong in the dance-off. I'm surprised he landed in the bottom, but he was the worst dancer, so the right person did go home.
