That title card is fire ngl
Fun detail: the stopwatch #Morbius is using during an experiment is the #CasioF91W. It’s a watch with a legacy of being extremely accurate despite how cheap it is, and is also known as the “terrorist watch”, since terrorists in the middle east started using it for their bombing operations. It became so ubiquitous among terrorists that the #USA government started arresting people just for wearing it.
Wait wait wait
So dude had to get blood transfusions due to a disorder, so he does experiments on bats so that he doesn’t need them anymore, declares that “it works”, then ends up with a craving for blood.
So maybe it didn’t work then.
This movie is getting worse, slowly, bit-by-bit.
Various “a to b” plot points don’t make much sense, or are dumb.
This isn’t “insanely foul odor that sets your nostrils on fire” bad, this is “death by a thousand cuts” bad
Okay, this ending is goofy. What the heck is this 😂
It’s like the writers were like “let’s make the plot make progressively less and less sense as the movie goes along”
And it’s a shame because this movie does play with some really interesting ideas: what if having superpowers is a bad thing? What if it’s impossible to keep yourself from hurting others? What happens when someone who’s spent a lot of time suffering gets addicted to something that feels freeing but ends up being either self-destructive or a danger to others? What should the limits of science be?
But it while it handles some of these films well, awful dialogue and poor writing makes those themes impossible to even contemplate.
This feels like something that could have been great if the script had some more thought put into it.
