Why Consumers Are Mad About Inflation Even Though It Has Fallen

Prices are rising more slowly, but consumers fixate on how much lower they were before the pandemic, a problem for Biden

WSJ
@jeffjarvis and the customers are very right. 10% Inflation and then 5% are still 15,5% higher prices.
@jeffjarvis our business "leaders" are idiots. Anyone else can understand infinite profit growth and stagnant wages are unsustainable.
@jeffjarvis here’s a headline of theirs I saved. Edited to use a screenshot with date
@edgeoforever @jeffjarvis Neither are politicians or pundits.
@jeffjarvis “our editorials are stirring up a shit storm that that then our news pages can report on said shit storm” is so tired.
@jeffjarvis all media keeps using the word inflation, without disecting what is driving prices up. It's not inflation, it's assholes.

@jeffjarvis
Great ad campaign telling people about the good times they're enjoying. Imply how ungrateful they are if they don't feel that way. Should really turn out the vote.

Some Democrats fear Bidenomics branding is backfiring

Polling shows that Americans' overall perception of the economy is sour.

Axios

@jeffjarvis Thanks for flagging this but from my perspective most mainstream media is compromised by foreign interests and or the financial interests of billionaires/corporations.

The media incl - WSJ, WP Times, Fox, CNN etc. are NO longer a reliable source of objective reporting. They want Joe Biden out and our democracy turned over to a tyrant while trying to paint a picture they are fair/objective but raking in profit$ due to a nonstop circus run by a handful of Bozos.

This must stop

@jeffjarvis the Democrats need to call out the mainstream media more for their terrible right leaning coverage
@jeffjarvis and the GOP nutjobs - who fought anti-inflation measures in the hopes that it would stick around til the election. Even though it's abating and the Fed has been pretty successful, we must stick with the narrative - because our monkeys are well-trained.
@jeffjarvis I mean, inflation went way up. My salary did not. I wonder what there is to be mad about...
@jeffjarvis What they are fixated on is how much wages haven't kept up with it.
@jeffjarvis why consumers are mad about being punched in the face even tho the amount of face-punching has fallen
@jeffjarvis price hikes to pretend your business can expand forever isn’t inflation.
