Could -and should- #Indigenous art be a tool in a process of #reconcilliation? With whom, and how?

I have been honored to lead an episode of the Dáiddadállu #podcast starring #Sámi politician and activist Aili Keskitalo, #Inuit artist Aqqalu Berthelsen, and Sámi activist and artist Petra Laiti - on #indigenousart and reconcilliation.

@mbergnordlie

I am allergic to Spotify. Is there somewhere else I can listen to it? Does it maybe have it's own homepage?

I tried to find it on Deezer, but no luck. Castbox couldn't find it either. 😔

@MaryPot Not sure, unfortunately.

@mbergnordlie

There's a job to be done making Sami history and modern culture/politics more available to the general public.

I've learned more about Sami history and culture since I started following you than I have in yonks of surfing the internet.

Many of the nasty preconceptions of Sami could be quashed easily if only more non-Sami were exposed to Sami culture and history in their everyday wanderings on the net.

And those of us who "get it" would have more to share to inform idiots. 😁

@MaryPot

I totally agree with you on this, both on being allergic to Spotify and that the presence of @mbergnordlie (and others) has proven an important source to knowledge (and interest) in “all things indigenous”. Thank you!

The podcast is up on the site, but so far only two episodes. Maybe we should ask them to make it a real podcast?

I would absolutely LOVE to subscribe to it on one of my podcast apps!

Deezer would be great. Castbox would work in a pinch.

Advantage with Deezer is that anyone can listen to anything from there without having an account or an app. Works just as well in browser. This is more inclusive imnsho.

And, when I researched it, Deezer is more socially minded than Spotify (not a great challenge) and pay their contributors well.

I may be wrong. Correct me if I am.

@MaryPot @mbergnordlie

I don’t know which podcast-distributor has the best terms for publishers. But to me, for it to be a podcast, there should be an available feed/url that I can subscribe to.

@thomasrost @mbergnordlie

There are URLs for everything on Deezer, even if you don't have an account.

If you have an account, you can even share the URLs to your playlists and non-account'ers can listen to them entirely.

I can subscribe to podcasts on there as well. No problem.

Have you had problems with Deezer?

@MaryPot @mbergnordlie

Never used Deezer, listen to podcasts in Pocket Cast and/or Instacast and/or the native Apple podcastplayer.

@thomasrost @mbergnordlie

But this was more about where the Sami podcasts should be findable than about which podcast app I use. 🙂

@MaryPot @mbergnordlie

Absolutely. And my point then: it should be findable anywhere people listen to podcasts, as a public feed.👍🏻

@thomasrost @MaryPot I'll pass this discussion on to the organizers!
