@jacksantucci In a voting population like in the US where prolonged two-party dominance has shifted voters’ political identity from “party affiliation” to “party counter-affiliation,” how do you envision the adoption of party-centric systems, in terms of selling the shift in perspective? How do we change to “this party represents my values” from our current “I distrust the other party more”?
@BreadAndSalt I don’t view the adoption of “party-centric” systems as requiring sale to voters. This is partly for the points I made about behavior generally, partly because the reform might not require a referendum (and we might not want it to), and partly because “party-centric” doesn’t really describe the sort of reform I see as most viable (assuming political will we have yet to see).
